This department has fully qualified, experienced music teachers teaching piano, keyboard, clarinet, recorders and theory of music from beginners to advanced levels. It caters for both classical and light music and examination work is done on request.
Teaching is done in the well lit, largest of the three music rooms where there are two acoustic pianos, one electric piano and three keyboards. This room proves to be ideal for one-on -one teaching. Piano accompaniments for instrumental and vocal examinations can also be provided here.
Janneke Visser's musical background is truly impressive. She qualified at the Royal College of Music, London, in piano and clarinet teaching and is an associate of the College. She has taught piano and clarinet in Zimbabwe, South Africa and latterly in New Zealand. She tends to take more advanced students, while a second tutor teaches the younger students just starting out in their chosen instrument.
Janneke's experience in performing and teaching is based on both attention to detail and drawing the very best from students, carefully monitoring their results, irrespective of which tutor is actually doing the teaching. Regular meetings of the two tutors ensure that each student gets the attention most suitable to their needs at their particular stage of development, and that their choice of one-on-one tuition is suitably rewarded.
